Contest Guidelines
1. The contest will be limited to no
more than 10 contestants.
2. Contestants must be registered attendees
of SunBears Weekend 2008. In addition, contestants are required to participate
in a number of additional activities during SunBears Weekend.
3. The judging panel will be made up
of one judge from each participating member club of the So Cal Bear
Club Alliance and up to 3 community judges. The winners will be decided
upon based on an agreed set of judging guidelines and rules.
4. A travel fund will be set up to allow the title holders to participate
in the International Bear Rendezvous (IBR) contest. This fund will be
administered this year by Bears San Diego. A $250 initial deposit will
be made for each title holder after the contest. The title holders will
then hold fund raising events to cover the balance of their travel expenses
up to a $750 cap each. Travel expenses shall include airfare, hotel,
and a gold registration package for IBR. Receipts must be presented
for reimbursement. As long as the titleholders submit their applications
for the IBR contest, they will be eligible to attend IBR regardless
of whether they are selected or not.
5. Any excess funds raised will be donated
to the Bears San Diego charity fund.
6. Contestants will sign an agreement
to abide by the terms and conditions set forth by the So Cal Bear Club
Alliance.
